Fuseta is a small town just after Olhão, in the direction to Tavira.
Separating the Fuseta from the ocean is the Ria Formosa lagoon, which is not very extensive in this area, and a sand barrier. In this is located the beach of Fuseta Island.
Fuseta Island in past owned a small houses, but it was devastated by a thunderstorm in 2010. Currently Fuseta Island only has infrastructure to support the visitants. It has an extensive beach, the waters are not very cold, calm, translucent and excellent for children because it is a sea that does not sink. During low tide small lakes are formed that can delight the little ones.
To get there you have to take the ferry from Fuseta, near the camping park and the trip takes no more than 5 minutes. The boats are constant and reinforced at the busiest times. You can see more in this link.
