This trail is located east of the Olhão city next to the Olhão Camping Park. Quinta do Marim has 60 hectares of pine forest and it is in this pine forest that the headquarters building of the Ria Formosa Natural Park and the Marim Environmental Education Center (CEAM) are located.
The whole place has marked paths that allow you to walk through the forest where the stone pine is dominant, the old agricultural spaces, marshes with fresh and brackish water pools and even old salt pans. It is a space designed to show visitors the diversity of fauna and flora in the Ria Formosa Natural Park.
The old tidal mill is located in the estuary and has been restored to show the various mechanisms used to rotate the various millstones that grind the cereal.
Following the route, we find also several bird observatories, the old salting tanks and the facilities of the RIAS (Center for Recovery and Investigation of Wild Animals), one small “hospital” that treats several wild animals that are found injured or weakened to return them to nature.

How to arrive and visit
The park is located to the south of the Olhão Camping Park at the exit from Olhão to Tavira city, next to the N125 in Algarve, Portugal. At the entrance, there is a gate where you can buy the ticket and park the car. The park is open every day, with reduced hours in winter. The entry fee can be found here.
