The Vicentina Coast is a destination that many who visit us have already discovered and remains a destination for all tastes: for groups of friends, for camping, for hiking, for families with children or for more romantic weekends .
For us, Vicentina Coast has always been an escape from work and busy days. It is on the coast that I find the landscapes that inspire me and bring me tranquility. It transmits peace and romanticism; inspires and love; adventure and soothes.
It is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful areas and has the most breathtaking beaches and landscapes in Portugal. And so it deserves more than a visit in both summer and winter. In fact, getting to know the Vicentina Coast in winter is one of the most breathtaking walks I have ever done in southern Portugal.

After talking about Vicentina Coast I have to mention that this article is not about all the Vicentina Coast. This is because it would be a very large article since you cannot summarize in a few lines or in a few photos the most stunning landscapes and beaches that this region offers us. Thus, this post focuses on two beaches located next to Aljezur.
[zt_title type=”single-border”]Amoreira Beach [/zt_title]
The Amoreira beach, near the village of Aljezur benefits from two contrasting realities: the maritime part itself and the mouth of the Aljezur stream. This contrast benefits all visitors as it results not only in a breathtaking landscape but also provides an excellent space to make the family beach. As a rule, the water on the Vicentina Coast is colder and the swell itself is usually quite strong, always creating excellent conditions for surfing, but the mouth of the river ends up creating a dune extension with excellent areas for family beach.
At low tide the landscape is even more wonderful, as you can see all the rock formations and the various lagoons that form, as shown in the photos.

During bathing season the beach has a lifeguard and has a restaurant/bar. It is a beach with all the infrastructures so it is also a beach with the Blue Flag.

Te road that take you to the beach locate next to the Aljezur Sports Complex. There are 7 km of road that follow the river and its entire marshland area.
Following the direction of Monte Clérico, you can also access the beach next to the restaurant “Taberna do Gabriel”. However, this access leads directly to the deepest part of the mouth of the Aljezur river and is easily crossed at low tide. Note that at high tide it is difficult to cross.

Monte Clérico beach is located south of Amoreira Beach. It is a small village of eminently holiday houses that teems with residents during the bathing season. Monte Clérico is located in the valley formed by the two imposing rocky cliffs. In the southern part of the beach, during low tide you can observe the tide pools, formed by the rocks and where different marine organisms are inhabited.
As the beach is located in the valley, the access road to this small nucleus of small summer houses is made by a road with amazing panoramic view.
The beach has all the necessary infrastructure being watched during the bathing season and is a Blue Flag beach.

The parking is located in the center of the small village. It is not a large infrastructure so it is usual to park informally on the road that gives you access.
